"Club Deception" by Sarah Skilton

Sarah Skilton’s CLUB DECEPTION Out Now

My wife Sarah’s third book comes out today and I couldn’t be prouder. CLUB DECEPTION is a mystery set in the world of magicians. (Safe to say she picked a topic near and dear to my heart.) I absolutely love the cover.

Club Deception Book CoverHere are some of the great reviews:

Skilton captures the romance of stage magic while educating readers about its history and culture. Splashy backdrops, steamy sex scenes, and strong, smart female characters complement the soapy plot.” – Publishers Weekly

Skilton keeps you guessing until the very last pages — and you’ll revel in every sly, sexy turn of events along the way.” – Greer Macallister, bestselling author of The Magician’s Lie and Girl In Disguise

Rollicking suspense with a throw-back 20’s vibe…Skilton’s sleight-of-hand hides all the tricks until the very end.” – Sandra Block, author of The Secret Room and Little Black Lies

I’m clearly biased… but honestly, I think this book has something for everyone. As with her other novels, it’s fast-paced with fantastic characters. But CLUB DECEPTION has more twists than a magic show, and it provides a rarely seen, behind-the-curtain look at the world of magic. If you’re a fan of mysteries, romances, or even dark comedies, I bet you’ll stay up late turning pages, eager to find out what happens next.

The Story

Claire Fredericksson is the beating heart of Club Deception, downtown L.A.’s most exclusive magicians’ society. She’s the real source of magic behind her philandering husband Jonathan’s award-winning magic show, but her debilitating stage fright has kept her out of the limelight for twenty years. Now that her daughter’s away at college, she’s tired of the “happy marriage” act and ready to step out from behind the red velvet curtain.

But when a magician rivalry and a stolen routine erupt into murder, Claire and the other magicians’ wives must uncover the truth and set things right for the men they love.

Welcome to CLUB DECEPTION, where nothing is what it seems.
