Happy Halloween! No Halloween is complete without some magic, so here’s a video of me entertaining people with one of my favorite magic tricks with coins.

This trick took me MANY long hours to perfect, and even longer to learn how to play it to a paying audience. It’s now a staple of my close-up magic show.

I don’t know who recorded it (I didn’t even know there was a camera on me!), but it captures the vibe of my show pretty well. I wish they captured the grand finale… they couldn’t believe where those coins ended up!

I had some terrific magic shows last weekend. Saturday was my busiest day, with some strolling magic at a beautiful home in Woodland Hills that was designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. Then, later that evening, I entertained some wonderful people on a boat in Marina del Rey. It was a fantastic evening.

Here’s a video I shot before another boat party last year. It’s a fun magic trick that ends with a real, authentic $100 bill. Hope you enjoy!

Some people can hold their breath for over 4 minutes…
I’m not one of those people.

Some people can solve a Rubik’s Cube in under 20 seconds…
I’m not one of those people either.

I was fooling around with a Rubik’s Cube in-between my shows at the Magic Castle, and this is what happened. It’s not magic… but it IS pretty darn cool IMHO.
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.

Whoo Hoo!

After many long hours of editing, I’ve finally uploaded my new demo video for my magic shows. Most of the footage was filmed at various private events and company parties. I’ve also included footage from the Magic Castle and a few of my TV appearances as well!

I hope you like it!

Last weekend I performed magic during a wedding reception in Seattle. (FYI: having a “wedding magician” is actually very common in Great Britain and some other areas of the world.)

This trick is a perfect example of the kind of magic that works best during a cocktail party or reception. When I’m hired to perform strolling magic, I always choose magic tricks that don’t require a table and can be kept in my pockets.

But most importantly, I want tricks that are fast, visual, and totally impossible. Like this one. I hope you enjoy it!

In 2005 I participated in a 3-D video project for a major Japanese electronics company. A few of my magic tricks were shot on ultra-high definition 3-D equipment, and were shown throughout Japan. The REAL 3-d version of this footage requires special monitors and glasses to view in true 3-D. This is a much smaller version that will work on your computer.

In this effect, I turn a one-dollar bill into a five, then a ten, and then a twenty. I have fifty in the end… (sort of… ;-)

Enjoy!

As a professional magician, people call all the time to ask about my shows. But it can be hard to educate people about their options over the phone. I could talk for hours about what makes me stand out from the crowd… but instead of telling them, I’d rather show them.

That’s why I’ve decided to make a short video of each one of my shows! Now people can see for themselves which show option is best for them! Hopefully, this will ensure that everyone gets exactly the right show for their unique event.

My first “show-specific” video is for Strolling Magic. Enjoy!

Videos of my other shows are coming soon!

I’ll be writing more about my European adventures later this week, but in the meantime, here’s my weekly magic video.

I performed at an engagement party last Saturday night, and I’m still getting adjusted to the L.A. time zone, so I haven’t had time to tape something specifically for this blog. Instead, here’s something I taped at a party a few weeks ago. I hope you like Pink Floyd! :-)

I’ve been fooling around with this coin sequence at a lot of gigs lately. It’s still not 100% there… but it keeps getting better.
