Magic in San Diego
BySan Diego Vacation
I had a show in San Diego earlier this week, and afterward my wife and I were able to catch up with some family who were in town. It was a nice little vacation. This is a photo of me in Balboa Park near the Museum of Man… a really cool Anthropology museum.
While we were there, I saw a street magician performing on the walkway. He was a young guy (very early 20′s) trying to raise money for a european acting school. He wasn’t the best magician I’ve seen… but he did a great job of gathering a crowd and getting the tips at the end of his set.
I enjoyed watching his show… but I don’t envy him. Working on the streets for tips is one of the toughest jobs in the world. While I completely respect street magicians, I’m very happy, lucky, and grateful to be doing what I do. I get to make my living performing for paying clients at some of the best parties in Los Angeles. How cool is that!?!?!? I am one LUCKY dude. :-)
This weekend is Independence Day, so lets all be grateful for what we have and the great country we share!
